A lot has changed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since the events of Avengers: Endgame. The Avengers, as we knew them, are no longer together. However, a new generation of heroes is emerging to fill the void left by iconic figures like Iron Man and Captain America. Although a proper Avengers movie is still some years away, the excitement is building for Avengers: Doomsday in 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. Here’s a look at who might be part of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Phase 6.

Who Will Be the New Avengers in the MCU?

Wong: The New Sorcerer Supreme

In the absence of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, Wong has stepped up as a central figure in the MCU. Since inheriting the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme from Doctor Strange, Wong has appeared in numerous post-Endgame projects, including Spider-Man: No Way HomeShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. His role as the glue holding the MCU together makes him a likely candidate to rally the new Avengers.

Shang-Chi: Master of the Ten Rings

Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi is almost certain to join the Avengers in Phase 6. He was already summoned by Wong at the end of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. With his control over the mystical Ten Rings, Shang-Chi is a powerful asset. The mid-credits scene in The Legend of the Ten Rings hints at a deeper mystery surrounding these artifacts, which could be significant in Avengers: Doomsday.

Doctor Strange: Veteran Sorcerer

While Wong holds the title of Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange remains a crucial figure in the MCU. His expertise in magic and the multiverse is indispensable. Although currently in another universe dealing with an Incursion problem alongside Clea, Doctor Strange’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday is almost guaranteed.

Captain America: Sam Wilson

No Avengers roster feels complete without a Captain America. Following Steve Rogers’ retirement, Sam Wilson has taken up the shield. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showed Sam accepting this responsibility, and Captain America: Brave New World will continue his journey. The trailer suggests that Sam will play a pivotal role in reforming the Avengers, making him a key player in the upcoming films.

War Machine: Rhodey’s Rise

Don Cheadle’s War Machine is set to play a significant role in the Multiverse Saga. Starring in the Armor Wars movie, which focuses on preventing Tony Stark’s technology from falling into the wrong hands, Rhodey is poised to fill the Iron Man-shaped void in the Avengers. His experience and firepower make him a vital addition to the team.

Ironheart: Riri Williams

Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams, introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is set to become the MCU’s new Iron Man. Her series Ironheart will establish her superhero identity, preparing her to join the Avengers in Avengers: Doomsday. With a villain like Doctor Doom, the team will need her intellect and technological prowess.

Spider-Man: Peter Parker

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is still a flagship hero of the MCU. Despite choosing to live a quieter life, his involvement in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars is expected. The complication of the world forgetting Spider-Man’s identity may be mitigated by Wong, who might still remember Peter Parker, providing a link to the Avengers.

She-Hulk: Jennifer Walters

Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk, introduced in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, is shaping up to be the new powerhouse of the Avengers. With her legal expertise, strength comparable to the Hulk, and her ability to break the fourth wall, She-Hulk is a versatile and formidable addition to the team.

The Marvels: Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel

The Marvels introduced a new team led by Captain Marvel. Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan are all expected to play significant roles in the upcoming Avengers films. Captain Marvel, in particular, is poised to be a leading figure, while Kamala’s enthusiasm ensures she will join the team.

Hawkeye & Hawkguy: Clint Barton and Kate Bishop

Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye may be ready for retirement, but Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop is ready to take up the mantle. Their skills with a bow and arrow are invaluable to the Avengers, and Kate’s likely involvement ensures the team will have expert marksmen.

Thor: The God of Thunder

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor remains one of the original Avengers still active in the MCU. Thor: Love and Thunder left Thor ready to defend Earth once more, potentially alongside his adopted daughter Love. Thor’s continued presence adds strength and experience to the new Avengers lineup.

The Ant-Man Family: Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne

Given their pivotal role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne are likely to be involved in Avengers: Doomsday. The Quantum Realm’s significance in the Multiverse Saga suggests that the Ant-Man family will play a critical part in the fight against new threats.

Star-Lord: Peter Quill

Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, now back on Earth, is another probable member of the new Avengers. His leadership experience with the Guardians of the Galaxy and his connection to Earth position him well for a role in the upcoming Avengers films.

Black Panther: Shuri

With Letitia Wright’s Shuri now taking up the mantle of Black Panther, Wakanda’s technological prowess and resources will be crucial for the new Avengers. Shuri’s intelligence and leadership, alongside Winston Duke’s M’Baku, who is the new monarch of Wakanda, will play significant roles in the battle against impending threats.

The MCU is gearing up for a new era of Avengers, with a diverse and powerful lineup ready to face the challenges of Phase 6. From seasoned veterans like Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel to emerging heroes like Shang-Chi and Ironheart, the future of the Avengers looks bright and exciting. Fans can look forward to Avengers: Doomsday in 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027, where these heroes will come together to defend Earth once more.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds has fixed the classic survival crafting trope of endlessly chopping down trees thanks to an excellent spell system that does the hard work for you

When I was first shown RuneScape: Dragonwilds—Jagex’s answer to survival crafting games like Valheim and Enshrouded with its own Gielinor flavour—the star pupil of the whole presentation were most certainly the spells. They’re shortcuts to make some of the more tedious parts of survival crafting a lot more palatable: Spectral axes that can chop down […]
